The Hendricks Hill Homeowners Association is committed to preserving the natural landscape and forestry within our neighborhood, while providing a safe, environmentally-friendly place to live that encourages wildlife and enjoyment of a more natural, scenic setting surrounding our homes.
Maintaining a well-kept landscape while living in a forest is a year round effort. Our trees provide shade & comfort, but also contribute to an abundance of fallen leaves, branches, limbs and such. Unfortunately much of this work is being done with gas powered leaf blowers, some by residents, some by contractors. The noise that these generate is substantial, and given the close quarters we live in, has affected us all. Since this work is done on literally most days of the week, it has becomes a constant source of harsh and unpleasant noise that in many instances exceeds the City of Eugene’s leaf blower ordinance of 70 dBA at 50 ft. We ask that residents be mindful of the noise emitted during their landscape cleanup, and switch to electric powered equipment that is much quieter, or implement noise suppression technology on the equipment used. It is the homeowner that is responsible to monitor this noise level, whether with their, or their contractors equipment. We hope this gentle reminder alleviates concerns before more restrictive measures need to be applied. Thank you.
